- The Haryana Government, Town and Country Planning Department notified Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules dated 28th April, 2017.

- Uttar Pradesh notified the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules on October 27, 2016.

- RERA Act, passed in Delhi on 26th March, 2016. Notification dated 26th March, 2016.

WB Housing & Industry Regulatory Authority Dawns in West Bengal to protect Home Buyers
- Government of West Bengal (Housing Department) appoints 1st Day of June, 2018 as the date, the WB Housing Industry Regulation Act, 2017, will come into force. (Notification dated 29th March, 2018).

West Bengal HIRA Updates
- The Housing Industry Regulatory Authority (WB HIRA) has been established under Section 20 of West Bengal Housing Industry Regulatory Act, 2017 which has been published in the Official Gazette dated 17th October, 2017 and came into effect on 1st June, 2018.
- The WB HIRA (West Bengal Housing Industry Regulatory Authority) website was recently launched.
- Shri. Adip Kumar Ray has been appointed to the post of Member Secretary, vide Notification No – 730 – PAR (WBCS)/1D – 150/18 dated 21st June 2018.

5 years free-of-cost guarantee from structural / workmanship defect or any other quality or provision of services or any other obligations of promoter as per agreement for sale from the date of handing over possession, it shall be the duty of promoter to rectify such defects without further charge, within thirty days. In the event of promoter's failure to rectify such defects within such time, the aggrieved allottees shall be entitled to receive appropriate compensation in the manner as provided under this Act.
- Depositing 70% of funds collected from buyers in separate bank account (Escrow) & used for project.
- Mandatory for all project builders to register with RERA before launching their projects.
- Developers to upload on RERA website all project details, including approved layout plan, timelines, cost, sale agreement formats.
- No advance (>10%) to be taken by promoter without entering in to an agreement for sale.
- Proposed project to be developed / completed by promoter in accordance with the sanctioned plans. Any additions and alterations cannot be made without previous consent of allottees.
